A glamorous 1940's Lana Turner?

Or Elizabeth Taylor??

Or Could be a 1950's Beaver Cleaver's mother, June, wearing pearl necklace, lace apron, and perfect hair.  And ALWAYS in a dress or on rare occasion a skirt with a cardigan!

As for My 1950's personal Choice???  LUCY!!

Why Lucy?? She was a real person!! We could all identify with her! Was she beautiful? YES! Was she talented? YES! Was she smart? YES! Was she perfect? NOPE!! Not on screen or off! That is why we love her!

All of these ladies and their Hollywood images are there for us to emulate. We can dress like them, were their jewelry, have our hair waved and curled and pinned like theirs. Vintage Style is IN and I say bring back the CLASS! Even the 1960's had Class! Did you not watch Mad Men??

The Boomer Generation identifies with the 60's mostly! That is my generation! That is is when a STYLE started to become a personal choice. Today we can mix and match with Clothing, Jewelry, Makeup, Hair and just have fun! That having been said...Pick a Place to start and just start!!

My Starting place is Vintage Jewelry! I LOVE Vintage Anything!! But Jewelry is Awesome! Speaks Volumes about a person without a word. Choose a decade...choose a piece!

Hello All!!

I have just come across the most wonderful Blog. I can not believe this was going on, and I am JUST finding it now. Fashion for the Advanced Stylish Woman and Man! Primarily Women, but guys can be stylish also.  Advanced in age and in Attitude!!  Check it out... http://advancedstyle.blogspot.com/

Let me say this ... I am not stylish! I have been going through a depression for several years and had lost myself. This is very common for women of all ages. I want my self back! The Advanced Style Blog and the Netflix Documentary, "Advanced Style", is inspiring!! Please check it out also.  And OMGOODNESS these women DO have Style!! They are their own persons with their own sense of who they are. And who they are is reflected in their Look! I LOVE this and have learned from them.

Why I Love My Grey Hair! And The Rest is All Small Stuff!

Hi! I'm Phyllis! 

And I love my Grey Hair! 
Not too crazy about the wrinkles that came with it, but age brings change and wrinkles are one of them. 

I think the one thing I love about my Grey Hair is what it stands for ... Knowledge, Wisdom, Experience in life. And most of all, a sense of what is important and what is not important.

 I remember a book that came out in the late 1990's called "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff...and It's All Small Stuff" by Richard Carlson. Just the title says all we need to know. Something to really think about! And you know, it's not always easy to tell the Small Stuff with so much coming at us from every direction...but compared to the Beauty of a waterfall or the sun setting over the ocean, it is all small stuff. We just need to take a step back and take a look around, really put things in perspective. I could not do this until I started going grey!!  If you get a chance check out the book.
